You may already have a few pool floats in storage waiting for you to inflate for summer fun, but how about a motorized pool float? Even if the wind pushes you (and your inflatable) to the other side of the pool or lake, you can make it back with minimal effort, thanks to the nifty propellers. (Ultimate lazy hack!)

This exciting float also brings out the competition in friends and family. Snag two for spirited cruises around the pool and see whose steering skills reign supreme. Whether you’re more of the relaxing or energetic type, a motorized pool float is a welcomed water accessory—no hand paddling required.

What is a motorized pool float?

The motorized pool float from PoolCandy is an easy way to turn a simple inflatable pool into a relaxing backyard resort. Like a normal pool lounger, this inflatable seat offers a spot to kick back and de-stress in the summertime heat. A wide-body built accommodates nearly anyone, and the float comfortably supports up to 300 pounds.

What sets this seat apart from other pool floats is the battery-powered propellers. The propellers provide enough torque to drive the float back, forth and to either side. A protective safety grill surrounds the propellers, so the float is safe to use around kids and pets during backyard parties. Joystick controls on either side of the float control the propellers using buttons, making it easy to navigate around other swimmers.

A high backrest and lower-back support offer a cozy spot to chill, and a built-in cup holder is big enough to hold even the oversized Stanley Quencher. See it in action by TikTok user @caseyy_mitchell.

How to Use a Motorized Pool Float

This pool party essential is incredibly easy to use. It assembles with zero tools—just blow up the lounger, insert six 1.5-volt batteries in each of the two motor units and close the battery box. After the batteries are inserted, the motorized pool float is ready to use!

To turn the float, push one joystick forward and the other backwards. Otherwise, simply point them in the direction you wish to go. The propellors automatically turn to accommodate any direction. Because they’re crafted from durable polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the motorized pool floats also work for pool-related outdoor summer games, like gentle bumper boats.

What Other People Are Saying

Shoppers praise the motorized float as a fun addition to boring backyard pools. While it may not be a speed demon, it certainly has enough power to lead some friendly races.

“At the vacation home, not everyday use, but the batteries have been in it for two months and three trips to the house. Still going strong. On the three trips, nine adults and three teens have kept it running an awful lot!” writes Mike Irwin, a five-star reviewer.
